Atomeris Academy. The Nuclear Bootcamp. Sector literacy, from the ground up.

The problem. The sector is growing faster than the workforce that runs it, and the routes in have always been narrow. Most new hires now come from outside the industry. Much of the sector’s experience is close to retirement. Bringing people up to speed falls to those you can least spare.

The answer. A starting point for anyone new to nuclear: eight Level 1 modules, with no prior knowledge assumed. Each module has its own AI avatar guide, and the content behind them is authored and validated by working nuclear professionals.

How it works. Browse eight modules of about thirty minutes each. Learn at your own pace, exploring the material in any order. Be assessed with a fifteen-question exam on every module. Get certified, with a certificate per module and progress tracked.

The eight modules.

The Nuclear Industry: the discovery of radioactivity and what followed; what Fukushima changed for the industry; where nuclear sits in the world’s energy mix.
Nuclear Science and the Fuel Cycle: fission, the reactor core and reactor types; radiation types, doses and half-life; uranium mining through to waste disposal.
Safety in the Nuclear Industry: ALARP, as low as reasonably practicable; defence in depth and how safety cases are built; safety culture as lived behaviour on site.
Nuclear and the Environment: environmental permitting and impact assessment; waste streams and how they are managed; biodiversity and local environmental effects.
Security and Safeguards: physical security, personnel security and cyber; IAEA safeguards and non-proliferation; weighing competing security priorities.
Global Regulation and Compliance: the UK regulators, ONR and the Environment Agency; international frameworks, IAEA and NEA; prescriptive versus goal-setting regulation.
Working in Nuclear: the roles and disciplines across the sector; how nuclear organisations are structured; a culture shaped by high stakes and high trust.
Nuclear Communications: public engagement around nuclear sites; stakeholder management and media handling; building trust through clear language.

Start at Level 1 and go as deep as you need. Levels 1 and 2 are e-learning modules, Level 3 is hybrid learning and Level 4 is classroom sessions, with the material shifting to a different audience as the depth increases.
