Consulting Partners are senior members of the NCL consulting team who focus on developing a portfolio of allocated clients, projects or geographic regions. Time is split between incentivised business development and fee-earning client work.

Core responsibilities

  • Originate, develop and maintain client or project opportunities that fit NCL’s services, sectors and margin expectations.
  • Own the allocated client or project relationship and keep an active, credible pipeline.
  • Support bids, proposals, pricing, scoping and commercial review.
  • Oversee delivery quality and client satisfaction for allocated work in partnership with service delivery.
  • Represent NCL externally through relationships, market engagement and subject-matter credibility.
  • Build repeat revenue and avoid over-dependence on the partner’s own personal delivery.
  • Share market intelligence, relationship context and lessons learned with the wider partner group.

Person specification

  • Recognised nuclear, infrastructure, energy, legal/commercial, digital, training or specialist-delivery credibility.
  • A real client network or project route to market, with evidence of converting relationships into work.
  • Commercial discipline: understands pricing, scope, margin, contracting risk and delivery feasibility.
  • Able to collaborate with service delivery rather than treating an allocated portfolio as a private book.
  • Client-centred and delivery-aware, with enough credibility to support quality conversations.
  • Motivated by building a broader NCL platform as well as individual earnings.

Contract and Remuneration

Each Consulting Partner will be contracted to NCL on a 12-month rolling contract. The role holder will remunerated on an incentivised revenue share basis along with fee earning consulting time. We are open to engaging an existing PSC consultant with an established consulting portfolio or to a permanent staff contract for a senior leader.

This role is fractional and non-exclusive. Indicative commitment is c.90 days per year in Year 1, rising to c.115 days per year by Year 5. This includes an illustrative 75 days of separately contracted consulting assignments plus c.15 to c.40 days of non-billable business development, bid, relationship, governance and portfolio activity.
