The Service Delivery Managing Partner leads NCL’s delivery capability. The role holder is responsible to the company board for meeting business objectives around organisational capability and service delivery cost. As a senior leader within NCL the Service Delivery MP will lead, develop and maintain the team of consultants, associates, contractors and alliance companies as well as taking part in fee earning client work.

Core responsibilities

  • Chair the Service Delivery Board and run the capability, quality and delivery-economics rhythm.
  • Own capability supply, associate engagement, staff deployment, contractor strategy and service director coverage.
  • Maintain service-line capability maps, standards, methods and delivery controls.
  • Improve the service-delivery cost ratio through better mix, pricing input, utilisation and repeatability.
  • Identify capability gaps against pipeline and work with the Consulting Managing Partner to resolve them.
  • Oversee delivery quality, peer review, lessons learned, rework reduction and service-line improvement.
  • Support bids with credible delivery models, resourcing assumptions and margin protection.

Person specification

  • Senior delivery leader with nuclear, regulated-industry or specialist consultancy experience.
  • Strong network of credible experts and an ability to attract, retain and deploy scarce capability.
  • Deep understanding of delivery quality, technical assurance, commercial delivery risk and utilisation.
  • Able to balance client need, delivery affordability, associate independence and staff development.
  • Confident setting standards, intervening on delivery risk and holding service directors to account.
  • Practical, collaborative and comfortable turning informal expertise into repeatable operating discipline.

Contract and Remuneration

The Service Delivery Managing Partner will be contracted to NCL on a 12-month rolling contract. The role holder will remunerated on an incentivised revenue share basis along with fee earning consulting time. We are open to engaging an existing PSC consultant with an established consulting portfolio or to a permanent staff contract for a senior leader.

This role is fractional and non-exclusive. Indicative commitment is c.80 days per year in Year 1, rising to c.110 days per year by Year 5. This includes c.30 to c.60 days of non-billable capability management, service-line development, bid support and governance plus an illustrative 50 days of separately contracted consulting assignments.
